2019 AUS-X OPEN SUPERCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE

During the opening ceremonies of the 2019 AUS-X Open Supercross in Melbourne, Australia, Chad Reed publicly announced that he will retire from racing motocross at the professional level in 2020. The last few months have been eventful for the multi-time champion, as he suffered injuries in crashes at the 2019 Seattle Supercross and 2019 Paris Supercross, parted ways with the JGRMX crew, formed a small independent “team” to race through the offseason and 2020, and the transitioned into professional car racing.

After the race was over on Saturday night, we spent a few minutes with Reed and discussed his decision and what it was like to announce it in his native Australia, during the biggest Supercross to ever be held on the motocross-obsessed island.
