2019 EAST RUTHERFORD SUPERCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE

Qualifying has just concluded at the 2019 East Rutherford Supercross and the field is set for the afternoon’s race at MetLife Stadium. Heavy rains in the days leading up to the sixteenth round of the series forced Feld Entertainment to clip the free practice from the Saturday schedule, but when the tarps came off, a very dry track was revealed. Maybe it’s just us, but the pace of practice didn’t seem too hectic and riders seemed to cruise for most of each session. Still, the top riders posted very similar lap times and as we know, anything can happen tonight when the gate drops.

250 CLASS

Chase Sexton set the tone for the 250 class in both practices and the GEICO Honda rider’s best lap was a 52.820. Can Sexton claim his first win of the year and swing the points to his favor?

After sitting out Nashville with a knee injury, Austin Forkner is on the line in an attempt to keep his championship hopes alive. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider is admittedly in survival mode, but still logged the fourth fastest lap of the class.

Justin Cooper is the third rider with a shot at the 250 title, but the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider was quiet in practice and was seventh on the result sheet. A New York native, Cooper will be one to watch later tonight.

450 CLASS

Marvin Musquin found the fast lines in the final practice session of the day and this resulted in a 51.848 for the Red Bull KTM rider.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac and Red Bull KTM’s Cooper Webb were ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, in the final results. Tomac’s best lap, a 52.228, was just 0.060 seconds quicker than Webb’s 52.288, so there’s not much to separate the championship contenders.
