2020 ANAHEIM TWO SUPERCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE
The 2020 Anaheim Two Supercross will have a lasting impact on Dylan Ferrandis. The Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider confirmed that he has been put on 12-month probation for his run-in with Christian Craig during 250 Main Event, a crash that forced Craig to the sidelines for the rest of the race due to the damage on his GEICO Honda.
The issue was a pass attempt in a flat, fast right turn after the finish line jump, when Ferrandis dove to the inside of Craig and then collided with the GEICO Honda rider at the exit of the curve. The contact sent Craig flying and put Ferrandis on the ground, and while both were able to get to their feet without injury, Craig’s handlebars were bent too much for him to ride. Ferrandis was able to remount and pursued Jett Lawrence for the lead, which led to block pass attempts, Lawrence’s collarbone breaking crash on the last lap, and Ferrandis’s first Main Event win of the 2020 season.
The crowd in Angel Stadium of Anaheim voiced their displeasure with Ferrandis when he was shown on the big screen and their boos drowned out his podium speech. The results of the 250 Main Event were withheld after the podium and post-race press conference, and Ferrandis was called to meet with race officials for his actions. Hours after the race was over, it was announced that Ferrandis would be credited with the Main Event win and 26 championship points.
Per Ferrandis, he has been put on a 12-month probation by the AMA that will result in a fine should he violate it with overly aggressive riding.
Jett Lawrence not Hunter Lawrence
Hunter Lawrence??? You mean jett?!
Chicken shit, safe penalty from the AMA. Sit this French jerk.
Couldn’t agree more. That should’ve been a loss of position and 1 or 2 race suspension.
12 month probation? .. seriously? .. couldn’t slap is little wrist harder than that? … what a pathetic joke!
