The GNCC season continues its run of events this weekend with the 2020 Camp Coker Bullet GNCC, the fifth round of the championship. After an exciting return to action a few weeks ago in Georgia, many are eager to see how the running order of the East Coast off-road series unfolds in the woods of South Carolina, especially with the recent developments like Kailub Russell’s streak of four wins, Ricky Russell’s season-ending injury and Steward Baylor’s split from the Sherco racing squad. Does Baylor return to the starting line with his independent KTM in an attempt to halt K. Russell’s run of victory or will someone like Josh Strang step up and beat the defending champion in his farewell tour? West Coast racer Cody Webb has been added to the entry list for the weekend for his first GNCC since 2011 and the Sherco-backed rider could certainly make things interesting…

Four rounds of racing have helped shape the championship standings in both the XC1 and XC2 divisions. Russell’s aforementioned run of victories has him well ahead in the running for the premier division (leader Russell has 120 points, second-place Strang has 92 points), but the battle is much closer in the XC2 Class. Craig DeLong’s win in the XC2 Class at the Bulldog GNCC a few weeks ago put him at the top of the list for the small-bore class, but he’s only four points ahead of second-place Jonathan Girroir and five points up on Mike Witkowski. This trio is well ahead of the rest of the riders in the standings (Witkowski is up 30 points on Cody Barnes), so it’ll come down to this group in the hunt for the title.

After keeping the camera crew at home in Georgia to abide by social distancing restrictions, Racer Productions will have their full staff on hand in South Carolina and will broadcast complete live coverage of the race below.
