COVID-19 & MOTOCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE
Preemptive measures by state governments to limit the spread of COVID-19 has caused multiple rounds of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series to be canceled, now including the 2020 Detroit Supercross. The announcement has been made on the website for Ford Field, the intended venue for the event, and outlines that in accordance with the restrictions on travel and group gatherings all events of a large scale are not allowed per Michigan state law.
It’s clear that this is a similar push to the Indianapolis and Seattle, the first two rounds that were axed as a result of COVID-19, and it’s likely that these will not be the last. Massachusetts is expected to enact a similar step in the immediate future, which could prevent the 2020 Foxborough Supercross from taking place in April.
