Bolt the bark busters onto your bars and fill up the back canteen, because it’s time for another round of the Grand National Cross Country series. Riders have headed to the Pennsylvania-West Virginia border for the 2020 High Point GNCC, round six of the series. One of the many last-minute additions to the schedule, the track is best known for its longtime spot on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, but today racers will battle around the long off-road loop cut into the property.
After four dominant performances to start the year, Kaliub Russell’s perfect season was cutoff by Josh Strang’s big win at the Camp Coker Bullett GNCC. The riders are now in a two-man battle for the title because guys that were front-runners earlier in the year like Stewart Baylor and Ricky Russell have been sidelined by issues or injuries. Strang’s victory proved that he can indeed snatch success away from the multi-time champion and the two riders are now in a head-to-head battle for the top spot in the standings, with Russell at 145 points and Strang at 122 points.
