And we’re racing! Saturday served as the first day of racing at Silver Dollar Motorsports Park for the 2020 Mini Major East, and yep, it was just as good as we could have hoped for. Hundreds of riders from around the country have flocked to Georgia for a weekend of action and we got through the full race order without much issue. We say “much” because a mid-morning rainstorm soaked the sandy soil, which forced the on-track action to pause until the weather passed by and the track was re-prepped.
Once the skies cleared up and the mud was pushed to the side, riders were back on the track for the first round of motos for all 26 classes and families lined the fences. There’s the usual interest in the highly competitive classes, including the SuperMini division and PeeWees, but there’s a big push behind the Girls classes this weekend and it’s obvious that there should be a new generation of WMX talent coming up.
