CHECK OUT OUR COMPLETE COVERAGE OF THE 2022 ARLINGTON SUPERCROSS
After a frigid time in Minnesota, the Monster Energy Supercross Championship has traveled to Texas for race eight of the season, the 2022 Arlington Supercross. The DFW Metroplex has always been a welcome place for Supercross, dating back to the first visit in 1975, and this weekend’s gate drop at AT&T Stadium will be the 44th race in the area.
The Arlington track looks built for big air. Back-to-back rhythm sections and creative elements, like the over-under bridge into the face of a triple, will give riders plenty of hang time. A few were quick to uncork the quad in the longest lane during Friday’s media riding session, while others found different ways over the jumps. The Texas dirt is some of the best on the circuit, a bright red clay with bits of sand mixed in that offers lots of traction but is prone to breaking down as the laps click off. That will be obvious in certain parts of the track, like in the bowl turns or the two whoop sets, and riders will constantly search for the most efficient lines.
