The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is in Crawfordsville, Indiana as round eleven is underway at Ironman Raceway. It was a sunny morning in Indiana, arguably perfect weather conditions, adding to the anticipation for racing at one of the most well-liked tracks on the circuit. Riders cut in lines during the morning’s practices, when the track was at its best during the early minutes of the first sessions.
Justin Cooper came out swinging in timed-qualifying, as the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider topped the leaderboards in both sessions. Ultimately, Cooper’s 2:00.271, logged in the first session, was the fastest time in the 250MX class.
250MX championship points-leader Jett Lawrence was the next name on the list, though, his 2:01.697 was quite a-bit slower than Cooper’s best lap.
The next best lap time was Hunter Lawrence’s 2:01.801, which came in the second and final session of timed-qualifying and awarded him with a third place in qualifying.
Chase Sexton jumped to the top of the leaderboards with 2-minutes on the clock in the final session of qualifying, as his 1:58.817 was nearly a second faster than Eli Tomac’s best time. Sexton heads into the motos in-front of his hometown crowd having qualifying ahead of his championship rival in both sessions.
Eli Tomac was just behind with a 1:59.742 in the second session of timed-qualifying. Though, Sexton managed to turn in a lap-time nearly a second faster than Eli in each session.
Christian Craig was the next name on the time-sheets, as the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider logged a 2:00.563 in the final session of qualifying. His lap time was just a few hundredths faster than Roczen’s, who ended up in fourth place.
Joey Savatgy was seen down off-track in the second session of timed-qualifying. The Monster Energy Kawasaki fill-in rider was tended to by the medic crew and did not complete qualifying.
