The 2021 season was absolutely record-breaking, with big turnouts in the series throughout the year, continued expansion of the Mini Major on the East Coast, and record attendance for the Mini Major on the West. And we aren’t showing any signs of slowing down! New features for 2022 will make the series more accessible and enjoyable to all, and we’re excited to share the details ahead of the first gate drop.
After adding a number of classes to the series over the past few years, we have gone through them all during the break to do some renaming and give them a bit of a makeover. Now it will be much easier for people to understand which class they race in, and better yet, what should be their second class. Each class will now be listed in a consistent Bike Size/Age/Skill format, a simple change that should race day much easier.
We no longer call every 50 Class “PeeWee,” as there are now PW/XR and 50 classes. In other mini news, we will host a 50 Open Class that will run on the Main Track at every venue, allowing serious 50cc racers to ride the Main Track at every stop of the series! Vet Classes have also been cleaned up to offer more riders per gate drop. Every rider who shows up with one bike will find it easy to enter into two classes, and sometimes more, at events like the Trans Am and Mini Major.
Our unique two-track format still creates the most racing opportunities while keeping a super manageable race schedule that gets you back home at a great time. More track time and less waiting are what we are after. Also new in 2022 will be tracks that we have not visited in a very long time and some never before! The first schedule of the year hosts an event at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park on Feburary 13. We are also in talks with additional tracks we hope to announce soon.
The STACYC GROMCROSS will make a return at select events as well including newly updated classes for the modified racers! We love the Saturday excitement of watching 2-year-olds twist the throttle and take laps for the trophies!
We are super excited to have new and returning partners in the 2022 schedule. Presenting sponsor AMSOIL is joined by Dirt Bike Kidz who will be making a big splash at all the final series rounds of the year. Big talks in place for some serious fun and activities out of the DBK crew. Returning to support the racers is Yamaha, Thor, EKS Brand, Throttle Syndicate, ASV, ODI, Flowvision, Renegade Fuels, Action Sports Canopies, Re/Max and Zingg Inc.
