2023 AMA SUPERCROSS & MOTOCROSS NUMBERS

Extensive details, including track layouts, race formats, support classes, and start times have been announced for the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Championship. The tour will hit sixteen cities in twelve states over five months, starting with the Anaheim One Supercross in January and ending at the Salt Lake City Supercross in May, for a venue-to-venue total of 16,072 miles.

What can we expect in 2023?

There are seven rounds for the 250 West Coast Region, eight for the 250 East Coast Region, and two East-West Showdowns (East Rutherford and Salt Lake City).

Of the seventeen venues, three are baseball-style diamonds, twelve are football-soccer rectangles, and two are speedways. The West Region will hit all three baseball diamonds and the East Region will go to both speedways.

Anaheim Two, Arlington, and Glendale will feature the Triple Crown format.

Speaking of Glendale, the Arizona race will happen in April because State Farm Stadium will host the Super Bowl in February. Not only is the date later, it’s also a holiday weekend (Easter). Word is that the television numbers from the 2022 Easter weekend race in Atlanta were very strong.

The two weekends off will be February 18 and April 1.

Tampa will be designated as the Military Appreciation event while all of the focus at East Rutherford will be to promote the “This Race Saves Lives” initiative with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to fundraise for childhood cancer care.

The Oakland, Atlanta, and Nashville races will happen in the afternoon/early evening. See each race for info.

Elite amateur competitors will be showcased through the Supercross Futures program at four events (Anaheim Two, Arlington, Glendale, East Rutherford). These races will be considered Premier Qualifying rounds, and the top-five finishers will advance to the Supercross Futures AMA National Championship finale in Salt Lake City.

Fan Fest will open the paddock to the public at every round but Detroit (compact streets and cold weather).

All seventeen rounds will be shown live through Peacock, making the app the preferred platform. Races will also be broadcast on a selection of NBC’s traditional outlets, including USA, CNBC, and NBC’s national television channel. International options will include partner networks around the world and a series-hosted SuperMotocross Video Pass.

Fans with Preferred Customer Access can get seats now through the pre-sale program, while tickets for each race will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, October 18. Feld Entertainment is also offering travel packages to Nashville and Salt Lake City.
