The third round of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship is officially underway, as riders spent Saturday morning logging laps during qualifying at the 2023 Thunder Valley Motocross. For the most part, the challenging course helped produce incredibly close lap times in both classes. Just fractions of a second split the front-runners in the 250MX and 450MX Class on the qualifying sheets, which ratcheted up the anticipation for today’s racing even more. Here’s a look at the fastest lap times and results…
As expected, Justin Cooper logged the quickest lap time of the 250MX qualifying sessions. The Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider logged a 2:16.477, which was over a second faster than Team Honda HRC’s Hunter Lawrences best time. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Jo Shimoda set the third best lap time in the 250MX class.
Yet again, Jett Lawrence set the fastest lap time in the 450MX class, as he found half-a-second over the rest of the competition and logged a 2:16.487. Adam Cianciarulo was just behind with a 2:17.107, and privateer Ty Masterpool turned some heads with a 2:18.555; the third fastest time.
