2024 Charlotte Supermotocross | Playoff One

And just like that, the 2024 Supermotocross Playoff rounds are underway, as round one of the three race series kicked off this morning at zMax Dragway, just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Moments ago, Timed Qualifying sessions took place, where riders in both the 250 Class and 450 Class got a half-hour to learn the unique race circuit through two 15-minute sessions.

Rj Hampshire came out swinging in Charlotte and set the fastest lap time, a 1:41.618 – which came from the final session of Timed-Qualifying. His fast lap was nearly half-a-second faster than Haiden Deegan’s 1:42.102, who logged the second best lap time. Julien Beaumer laid down a 1:42.132 to claim the third best lap time in the 250 class. Casey Cochran went down hard in the first session of qualifying and will sit out tonight’s race as a result.

Justin Cooper was the man to beat in 450 Timed-Qualifying, as he set the pace with a blistering fast 1:39.575. Jett Lawrence was just behind on the lap charts, as he laid down a 1:39.655, which was just faster than Chase Sexton’s 1:39.780. Jason Anderson and Justin Barcia both had hard crashes on the technical race course before gate drop, which ended their opening Playoff round prematurely.
