2024 Fort Worth SuperMotocross | Pre-Race News Break

The SuperMotocross World Championship continues with Playoff Two, the 2024 Fort Worth SuperMotocross. Dense, heavy clay has been dumped on the infield of Texas Motor Speedway, and the massive track will be one of many elements that riders will have to contend with today. Check out footage from Friday afternoon while we go over some details from Saturday morning’s timed qualifying sessions. Getting the Texas clay primed for race day was an all-week effort for the Dirt Wurx crew. The material came straight out of a hole on the property, got shaped into a layout, and then was repeatedly watered and tilled to increase traction.

The morning practice sessions were wet and heavy, enough for Tomac and Deegan to run the Dunlop paddle tire, but there are already spots where the dirt has dried out and is taking down rubber.

Today might be the hottest race of the entire year. The forecasted temperature is going to be in the high 90s and the heat index will break the triple-digit mark, a sensation that should be even more intense on the shadeless black asphalt.
