2024 Pro Motocross Championship | Hangtown – Round Two

Round two of the Pro Motocross Championship kicked off this morning at Hangtown Motocross Classic, just outside of Rancho Cordova, CA. Moments ago, Timed Qualifying sessions took place, where riders in both the 250 Class and 450 Class got a half-hour to learn the somewhat redesigned circuit through two 15-minute sessions.

After an underwhelming performance on paper last weekend, Casey Cochran came out swinging this morning and turned some heads. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing youngster laid down the fastest lap time in the 250 class, and did so multiple times. After being shuffled back down to second place on the leaderboards, Casey logged another fast lap and ultimately topped the charts with his late 1:57.994.

Joey Savatgy was next on the leaderboards and he too seemed to be liking the new course layout at Hangtown. The veteran returning to the 250 class logged a 1:58.492 late in the final session of timed qualifying and landed his Triumph Racing TF 250-X in second place on the time sheets.

Last weekend’s winner and current red-plate holder Haiden Deegan logged the third best lap of the morning. The Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider pulled off early in the second session to go make some adjustments and changes to the bike, which left his 1:58.557 from the first session as his best time.

Jett Lawrence topped the charts in this morning’s 450 timed qualifying sessions. The championship points leader and current red-plate holder looks to continue his win streak and make history today after logging a 1:56.408 aboard his Team Honda HRC CRF450R.

Jason Anderson was the next name on the 450 timed qualifying leaderboards. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider’s results were hindered by a first turn crash last weekend, but his pace was certainly there. Jason’s fast lap, a 1:57.178, came in this morning’s final session of practice.

Justin Cooper rounded out the top-3 in Hangtown 450 timed qualifying results. The lone Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider laid down a 1:57.305 on the new Hangtown course, which was just a few thousandths faster than Sexton’s best time.
