2024 Pro Motocross Championship | Unadilla | Round Nine

After two weekends off, the Pro Motocross Championship is back in action, as round nine kicked off this morning at Unadilla, just outside of New Berlin, New York. Moments ago, Timed Qualifying sessions took place, where riders in both the 250 Class and 450 Class got a half-hour to learn the technical race circuit through two 15-minute sessions.

It looks like Chance Hymas used the three weeks off to his advantage, as he seemed much healthier this morning. The Team Honda HRC rider was the man to beat in 250MX Timed-Qualifying, as he topped the charts in both sessions and ultimately logged the best time, a 2:13.773.

Much like Hymas, Ty Masterpool was also in poor health at the previous round of the championship. However, he too seems to be as good as ever at Unadilla. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider laid down a 2:15.654 in the final session to secure second place on the time sheets.

Veteran Joey Savatgy had his best qualifying session of the championship since round one at Fox Raceway. The Triumph Racing rider laid down a 2:15.876 in that final Timed Qualifying session to edge out Haiden Deegan for third place on the time sheets.

Chase Sexton is business as usual following the three weeks off, as he laid down the best lap time of the 450MX Timed Qualifying sessions. The RedBull KTM Factory Racing rider was the only one to dip into the 2:11’s with his blistering fast 2:11.943, which he laid down in the final session of practice.

Local boy, Justin Cooper, was next on the 450MX Timed Qualifying time sheets. The Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha rider laid down a 2:12.191 in his final session of riding and neared Sexton’s impressive lap time.

Jason Anderson continued to show speed and landed himself the third best lap time in Timed Qualifying. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider logged a 2:14.237 in the final session of practice to better his already fast lap and edge out Hunter Lawrence on the time sheets.
