Round seven of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship is in Arlington, Texas, this weekend, and the action inside the massive stadium is setting up to be epic for tonight’s Triple Crown Supercross. The track is developing nicely with rutted corners and big obstacles, but it is a bit more slippery than the photos might lead you to believe. Thus far, the track has gotten faster as it gets worn in, as the fastest overall qualifiers in both classes came in the final timed qualifying session.
In the 250 Western Regional class, Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Harden Deegan led the way in the first qualifying session, but his teammates Cole Davies turned in a blistering 48.326 lap to steal the pole position. Deegan was second fastest with a 49.029 and series points leader Julien Beaumer’s third with a 49.088.
In the 450 division, Team Tedder’s Justin Hill caught the entire field off guard with a blistering 47.657-second lap time in the second timed session, besting Justin Cooper’s 48.154 and Ken Roczen’s 48.273 lap. With the unpredictable nature of the Triple Crown format and the three shorter races, could Hill earn the second 450 podium of his career in Texas tonight?
