There are few aftermarket components companies as successful and widely used in professional racing as Renthal. Started in 1969 by two friends that wanted better products for their own off-road motorcycle riding, the British brand has become renowned for the strength and performance of the aluminum handlebars and drivetrain components. Nearly every high-level racer or team has relied on a Renthal part at some time and that is reflected in the company’s run of professional championships: a world title every year dating back to 1983, a US title every year dating back to 1986.
Renthal has produced a video that celebrates the company’s 50th anniversary, the long list of accomplishments, and continued progress motorcycling and mountain biking as a self-owned company. With insight from co-founder Henry Rosenthal and technical partners including Mitch Payton and Jeremy McGrath, it’s a detailed look at their history and dedication to racing.
