Checking in With Nick Schmidt

Presented by Yamaha

There’s a lot on the line coming into the final round of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross Series this weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah. Three titles are up for grabs in the 250 West Coast/East Coast regions 450 Class, riders will try to put in one last good result before the Tuff Blocks go into storage, and the PulpMX Yamaha Privateer LCQ Challenge will be paid out to an independent rider. Nick Schmidt is the current leader of the “championship within a championship” and will earn a nice payout for his efforts through the 17-race season.

Schmidt has been a staple on the Supercross tour for years and has plenty of Main Event starts to his credit, but this year’s run has had its share of ups and downs, and he’s been absent from the starting line in the feature races. We checked in with the man formerly known as the “Milestone Assassin” to discuss the challenges and progress through the season, what it means to trust the process, his work with Team AllSouth, and how the bonus money will help his program in future seasons.
