CHECK OUT OUR COMPLETE COVERAGE OF THE 2022 ATLANTA SUPERCROSS
We’ve returned to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the 2022 Atlanta Supercross, round fourteen in this year’s schedule and the first of two East-West Showdowns for the 250 Class.
This weekend is a significant moment for the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross Championship. It will be the first time all of the riders and teams will line up against each other this year, with many participating in the “THIS RACE SAVES LIVES” program for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Bike parts, gear, and other items from the weekend will be collected and sold through an online auction that will start Monday, April 25. Last year’s drive raised more than a quarter of a million dollars to help eliminate childhood cancer.
The forecasted rain has hit the area and caused major changes to race day. The track crew covered the course on Friday night in an attempt to keep the red clay from getting too wet, but the morning storms prompted the AMA to alter the schedule. The current plan is for riders to get one Timed Qualifying session at 11 AM on Saturday morning, run the Supercross Futures race, and then re-prep before the afternoon’s gate drops.
