Were you surprised by Joey Savatgy’s return to Monster Energy Kawasaki? The rider and team needed one another ahead of the summer, and after a few details got sorted out, agreed to put the 17s back on a KX450.
Lots of details made Savatgy the best choice. Familiarity with the motorcycle means he has a perspective on the changes brought on by Broc Tickle’s testing, while years spent at Team Green made him close with people on the team. Both groups have changed a bit since 2019, and Savatgy told us the time apart allowed him to become a much better rider-person.
