2020 Kawasaki KX450 First Impression with Pat Foster on the Fly Racing Swapmoto Podcast
Presented by Fly Racing
The 2019 Kawasaki KX450 was all new and the green machine emerged from several shootout comparisons with Bike of the Year honors thanks to its strong, usable powerplant, excellent suspension package, and well-balanced chassis. For 2020 it returns unchanged, but is that enough? swap and SML test rider Pat Foster review the ’20 KX450 and also talk about what they learned after spending a year on the ’19 bike.
Good review of Kawasaki’s BNG 2020 and a better recap of the 2019’s improvements over previous Kawi models as well as their competition. However, I believe that both Yoshimura and the latest edition PC exhausts both offer rubber mounted cans to help with the known subframe problem. Also, Hinson and Rekluse both provide solid offerings over the stock judder-spring setup. A good Swapmoto test would be to compare OE with judder removed and traditional full-size plate installed, same test but adding stiffer springs, Hinson full system, Hinson economy version with just fibers/plates/springs, Rekluse full system, Rekluse economy version, and also their auto-clutch offering; basically every option available for KX450 owners.
