Hunter Lawrence’s first year in the United States has been riddled by injuries, and he the latest setback comes just as the AMA season concludes. On Friday morning, the GEICO Honda rider announced that a small mistake while practicing ahead of the 2019 Ironman Motocross has resulted in tears to the ACL and meniscus in his knee, along with a sprain to the MCL. The injury happened on Wednesday and will require much of the offseason for recovery.
Though the results are limited, Lawrence has shown promise this summer with moto wins and top-five finishes in the 250 class of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. On a multi-year contract with the team, his spot is safe in 2020.
