This is it. After months of traveling from South America to mainland Europe to the diverse regions of Asia, the 2019 Monster Energy FIM Motocross World Championship wraps up this weekend with the 2019 MXGP of China. It’s been an eventful season that saw plenty of close motos, injuries to many contenders, and titles for two young riders that have established their place as some of the top talents in the world. Was every race great? Nah, there were plenty of blowouts and dominant rides, but the chance that anything could happen when the gate dropped is what kept our attention.

This trip to China has been years in the making, as series promoter Youthstream has pushed to take the sport to untapped, lucrative markets which is something that China most definitely is. Could this be the start of something big? That remains to be seen because either a massive crowd or just a few thousand spectators could file into the venue over the weekend and we wouldn’t be surprised either way. The track is said to be a soft base, which isn’t very common for flyaway races at purpose-built venues, so that’ll be another interesting thing to keep an eye on.

The long series schedule has taken a toll on the field and quite a few are on the sidelines, while some riders on small teams won’t make the trip at all. Have a look at the entry list and injury notes below…
