2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series | Multiple Rounds Cancelled Due To COVID-19

COVID-19 & MOTOCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE

After three very turbulent days of dealing with the COVID-19 situation, Feld Entertainment has confirmed the cancellation to even more events of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series. On Friday, it was announced that the 2020 Denver Supercross and 2020 Foxborough Supercross would join the already axed 2020 Indianapolis Supercross, 2020 Detroit Supercross, and 2020 Seattle Supercross due to recently enacted measures by state governments in the respective regions that restrict large gatherings in public spaces.

This was a massive development that we were waiting to hear because it answers many questions and creates even more. Now we know that the races in those venues are completely off the calendar, but there is no further word on the 2020 Las Vegas Supercross and 2020 Salt Lake City Supercross, which are the only rounds remaining the schedule that have not been altered to this point.

These races hinge on multiple factors, including the containment of COVID-19 in the coming days, if the same or further measures are in place in Nevada and Utah come April and May.

We have been told that there plans by Feld Entertainment, the promotion group, and the FIM-AMA, the officiating bodies for the series, to hold multiple events in quick succession at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, but there is no indication of that being the case in the cancellation statement.

This also means there is no definitive end to the 450 Class, 250 West Coast and 250 East Coast championship chases, which are led by Eli Tomac, Dylan Ferrandis, and Chase Sexton, respectively.

All tickets purchased on Ticketmaster.com will automatically be refunded back to the purchaser’s original form of payment. All other tickets that were purchased at ticket outlets, box office or via phone can be refunded at the original point of purchase.

We will have more information on this situation as it becomes available…
