FasstCo Anti-Vibration Handlebar Inserts | Garage Finds

FasstCo’s Anti-Vibration Handlebar Inserts aren’t a vintage item per se, but with the advent of smoother-running four-stroke motorcycles, I feel like they have been forgotten. I found these inserts brand-new, in the package when I cleaned out my garage drawers this week, and promptly installed them in my 2020 Honda CRF250R handlebars. Sure, it doesn’t render my hands numb like some two-stroke dirt bikes back in the day used to, but less vibration at the grips is always a good thing.
Back in the day, these babies were a must-have in any two-stroke test bike that I planned to spend any amount of time on. Easily installed in the ends of your handlebars before the grips, the FasstCo inserts did exactly as they claimed by dampening the engine vibrations transferred through the handlebars and into your hands, I’ve heard of some old school racers filling their handlebars with spray-in foam insulation, but I can hardly imagine that would work as well as the FasstCo inserts. Furthermore, when I worked at Pasadena Honda back in the day, I remember a product called a Bar Snake, which was a flexible lead insert that filled the entire handlebar of a street bike.
If you’re a two-stroke rider, or just want to make your new four-stroke feel buttery smooth in your hands, these bad boys are a cheap and worthwhile investment at $59.99. Best of all, they can be removed and reused time and time again. Find them at fasstco.com
