A Day With The King
We got a great text message yesterday…Jeremy McGrath was headed to the Kawasaki Supercross track in Corona to spin a few laps and dust off the cobwebs in preparation for something he’s got up his sleeve in the near future, and he invited Swapmoto Live to tag along. Naturally, we packed our bags and met the King of Supercross at the K2 SX track in the hills in anticipation of a good time. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas and rain began to dump down on us after had only spun a few laps. Though our time was cut short it was – as always – a blast to snap some shots of McGrath…
At 47, McGrath still has his signature style.
Special parts like this Pro Circuit muffler with a green carbon fiber tip are reserved for the factory Monster Energy Kawasaki team…and guys like MC.
These days, it almost seems as if the retired Jeremy McGrath is busier than the old racing Jeremy McGrath. Between sponsor obligations, ambassador commitments, and of course, kids, his schedule is more jam-packed than ever. He still loves to get out and ride, though and makes time whenever possible.
“Man, these whoops are big.” It was really odd to hear McGrath say that after he rolled the K2 whoops for the first time. On the next lap, though, he skimmed through them with ease.
The perks of being a seven-time Supercross Champion.
McGrath was using the day as a Supercross refresher as he is scheduled to participate in the opening ceremonies at the new Nashville Supercross.
Too bad it started raining…we were planning on taking a mountain bike ride to the poppies in the backround afterward to see what all the traffic jams were all about.
Until next time!jeremy mcgratg
