AMSOIL Swapmoto Race Report | Glen Helen Raceway

Share

Round four of the AMSOIL West Coast Open race series is officially in the books, as racing went off this past weekend at the legendary Glen Helen Raceway and man it was another hot one! However, yet again the 100-degree temperatures didn’t seem to intimidate a single person, as we witnessed one of the largest turnouts at Glen Helen for the Swapmoto race series. Nearly 600 racers joined us in the hills of San Bernardino, CA for a day of racing. The track crew kept water on the ground throughout the day, keeping the two exciting and fast track layouts in their best possible form. As the dust settled, nearly 600 riders left Glen Helen with smiles on their faces, as they were able to enjoy another day throwing down laps and doing battle.

As we’ve seen throughout the AMSOIL West Coast Open race series, the pro classes were stacked full of talent. Round four of the series at Glen Helen Raceway saw the largest pro turnout in quite some time, as fifteen talented racers lined up for the Pro 450F class alone. Mitchell Falk was the man to beat in both the Pro 450F and Pro Open (125-450) classes. After some mid-pack starts, Falk managed to battle his way through the talented field and pass into the lead. Though he had to deal with some pressure and challenges from Todd Sibell, Dominic Desimone, and Kai Aiello, Mitchell left Glen Helen with four moto wins and two overall wins. Not to mention quite a solid purse!

Yet again, the youngsters were out at Glen Helen Raceway! The Open 85-150F/Supermini class was stacked and full of excitement at round four of the AMSOIL Swapmoto race series, as 13 speedy youngsters lined up to do battle. Amongst the crowded class, Leum Oehlhof came out for another round of the AMSOIL West Coast Open series and seemed to be the kid to beat on the 85s. Leum dominated in both the 12-13 years 85/150F and Open 85-150F/Supermini classes, as he went 1-1 in both classes and took home four individual moto wins. Solid work, Leum!

With round four of the West Coast Open series now in the books, the series finale is less than two weeks away! We hope to see you all at State Fair on August 16th! Also, we are excited to announce that the Mini Major will be back on September 24th-27th at State Fair, so mark your calendars for the largest mini-dedicated race in the country!
