AMSOIL EL’ DORADO SERIES | ROUND FIVE | STATE FAIR MX
And that’s a wrap! The 2020 AMSOIL El’ Dorado race series is officially in the books, as the series finale took place this past weekend at State Fair MX. We were fortunate enough to experience the last few days of sunshine at our El’ Dorado series finale, as a huge storm rolled into Southern California just a day later. That being said, the weather could not have been more perfect for race day! With exceptional weather, perfectly groomed tracks, and hundreds of excited racers, round five of the 2020 AMSOIL Swapmoto Race Series was truly one for the books!
There were plenty of impressive rides at the El’ Dorado series finale, but Carter Dubach easily put together one of the most dominating rides we had witnessed all series long. Carter contested in both the School Boy (125/250F) and 125cc Open class aboard his Dubach Racing Yamaha YZ125. The rest of the competition seemed to not even have a chance at a win, as Carter was out front from the moment the gate dropped and continued to lay down fast lap after fast lap. With four dominating moto wins and two class sweeps, we think it’s easy to say that Carter Dubach had a good day at the races!
As for the Pro classes, it was hard to ignore Rene Garcia and his commanding footprint on both the Pro 250F and Pro Open (125-450) classes. Though he suffered some pressure from Todd Sibell and Blake Ashley, Rene managed to fend off his challengers and win every moto he lined up for. And we can not forget to mention how entertaining it was as a spectator to watch Rene lay down perfect lap after perfect lap, even as the track broke down and got challenging. There is no doubt in our mind that Rene laid down the fastest lap of the day, as it’s hard to argue with four moto wins and two overall class victories in stacked pro classes.
As always, the Supermini classes were packed full of action and exciting moments. Among all the talented youngsters, Carson Millikan seemed to have the obvious upper hand after just his first moto. The kid out of Arizona contended in basically every class he kid, lining up in the 12-13 years 85/150F class, Open 85-150F Supermini class, and the Big Wheel Open class. Not only did Carson race three times as much as the average kid, but he dominated each race he lined up for. At the end of the day, Carson went home with the overall victory in all three classes he contended in. Way to go, Carson!
