AMSOIL El’ Dorado Race Series | State Fair MX | Round Two

The AMSOIL Swapmoto Race Series rolled into the new State Fair MX facility for the first time last weekend, as the El’ Dorado tour made its second stop of the new year. Hundreds of eager racers rolled into the Perris, CA fairgrounds for their first glimpse of race day at State Fair. With two perfectly prepped tracks, amazing weather conditions, and an excited field of racers; round two of the AMSOIL El’ Dorado series was one for the books!

Troy Lee Designs RedBull KTM’s Nate Thrasher came out to State Fair MX for the second round of the El’ Dorado series and dominated his classes with ease. The racer out of Tennesee entered his TLD KTM in both the Intermediate 250F and Schoolboy (125/250F) classes, and as suspected, swept both classes with 1-1 performances. From start to finish, Nate managed to maneuver the course perfectly and dominate his competition. With four moto wins and two overall class sweeps on the day, we’d say it was a pretty successful day at the races for Thrasher.

The Pro classes were quite exciting at the second round of the AMSOIL El’ Dorado race series, as five extremely talented racers left it all out on the track. Though the riders were all close in time, after a few laps, it was obvious that the battle for the win was between Max Miller and Haruki Yokoyama. Thanks to an epic track layout, filtered with 180-degree turns, the riders swapped positions multiple times and put on quiet the show. However, at the end of the day it was Haruki Yokoyama who was able to get it done in both the Pro 250F and Pro Open (125-450) classes. A moto-two win in the Pro 250F class over Max Miller sealed the deal for Haruki, and a more consistent moto-one got the job done in the Pro Open class.

As for our mini-bike classes, the Supermini/85cc classes were as staked and competitive as ever. With 16 entries in the Open 85-150F/Supermini class alone, there was no arguing against the prevalence of 85cc rippers at round two. Despite the long list of challenging racers, long time race series regular Myles Monty held it down in the Supermini class with a second moto win and the overall class victory. However, arguably his most successful performance of the day came in the 12-13 years 85/150F class, where he swept with a 1-1 result. Way to go, Myles!
