2020 DAYTONA SUPERCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE
We mentioned that Benny Bloss was in line to change teams on our Kickstart Podcast recap from the 2020 Atlanta Supercross and on Friday, it was announced that he will rejoin Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/WPS/KTM for the remaining rounds of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
This is a major change for the rider and team in some ways and a return to something familiar in others; Bloss parted ways with the team after three years when they signed Justin Bogle to a full-time contract for 2020 and started his year with the reformed Rock River Yamaha squad. With Bogle sidelined for the remainder of Supercross due to a concussion from the Glendale round, the decision was made to bring Bloss back to Team RM ATV-MC crew for the last seven rounds.
Bloss has had some up and down moments this year, due in part to his own crashes and missed rounds with a concussion and strained muscles, but his 13th place result last weekend in Atlanta is his best of the season so far.
Bloss got back on the 450 SX-F during the week between Atlanta and Daytona, and this weekend’s round in Florida will be his return debut.
It’s important to note that this deal is only for the rest of the Supercross season, which means Bloss will need to put in solid results and land another fill-in deal between now and May to get support for the summer’s Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. His original deal with Rock River Yamaha was for the full season, indoors and out.
