Lars Lindstrom has worked his way up the corporate ladder at Team Honda HRC. Honda first hired the son of AMA Hall of Famer Gunnar Lindstrom to be an assistant at the Torrance shop in 2000, but when his skills on a bike and willingness to work almost any job in the motocross division became apparent, he was promoted into more important roles, including test rider, mechanic, parts room manager, engine and suspension technician, and Crew Chief over the 450 race program.

Twenty-two years of experience made Lindstrom the best person to replace Erik Kehoe for the Team Manager role at the factory team, and in the six months since his appointment, the group has improved their CRF motorcycles and claimed wins at the highest levels of competition. We spent some time with Lars during Honda’s fiftieth-anniversary dinner to discuss his role, his riders, and how communication between the race team and Japan went directly into the new 2023 CRF450R.
