Motocross of Nations hype was high at RedBud. Mike Pelletier, Director of Racing at the AMA, gauged interest for Team USA at the Independence Day race and the response from the pit area was very positive. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, though, because most riders dream of getting chosen for the squad and every OEM-backed team will be on hand to support their foreign counterparts.
Recent runnings of the international competition have been difficult for the American effort. Unfortunate crashes, small injuries, adverse conditions, and subpar finishes has kept to Team USA from reaching the top step since 2011, but Pelletier is confident that will change in September.
