Ducati changed the industry when they reintroduced the Scrambler into their model line. A modern-day take on the Italian brand’s iconic single-cylinder motorcycle that was able to go anywhere at any time, the new Scrambler is designed to go from the road to the dirt track to the desert without much (if any) modification. We saw the bike when it was debuted at the 2014 Intermot expo in Germany and over the last few years, it’s become a best seller in dealerships and raced at the front of the pack at rounds of the RSD Hooligan race series. The versatility and timeless design of the Scrambler changed the perception of Ducati, which had become known for its wild high-performance street bikes.

When motorcycle classes were added to the entry list for the 2020 running of The Mint 400, the off-road race made famous by writer Hunter S. Thompson, Ducati and Fasthouse went to work on a Desert Sled Scrambler that would be able to bomb through the rough terrain of Nevada with Ricky Diaz and Jordan Graham at the controls. How’d they do?
