When news hit that Factory Connection Honda would be closing their doors after losing GEICO as their title sponsor, a lot of questions were formed regarding the future of both riders and team personnel. Now, less than three months after the teams’ shutdown was announced, former GEICO Honda members Jo Shimoda and Matt Goodbred prepare for arguably their most promising season yet with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki. Word got out about Jo’s spot-on Mitch Payton’s team in mid-November, however, mechanic Matt Goodbred took on the job just a few weeks ago. We ventured out to Hemet SX with the two for a day of filming where we mic’d up both Jo and Matt to discuss their new gigs and being reunited after the loss of GEICO Honda.
