2019 PARIS SUPERCROSS | COMPLETE COVERAGE

More power isn’t always better. That’s what Justin Barcia is thinking, at least. Over the last few months, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing and rider have worked to find an engine package that suits Barcia’s loose, high-rev riding style but no amount of de-tuning with mapping could get the curve he wanted. But a stock YZ450F would. So with that, Barcia asked the team to take a chance with a very basic bike and he’s turned a lot of Supercross laps on the same engine setup that any customer can buy (all that’s on the bike is a Pro Circuit exhaust and Vortex sprockets), with the exception of factory KYB suspension. During this weekend’s 2019 Paris Supercross we talked about the change with Barcia and from what he says, this could be his setup come the 2020 Anaheim One Supercross.
