We’re fans of the Supercross Futures events that run alongside the Monster Energy Supercross Series for a few reasons. First, we are all guys that participated in past amateur days at Supercross-Arenacross races and know how memorable it is to race a burly race track in a stadium setting. Yeah, those short and sketchy motos are ones you think about years later and it’s cool to know that the current generation of riders around the country is getting their chance to do the same.
The second reason is that the Supercross Futures events serve as a development series for high-level classes like SuperMini, B, and A. There’s no denying that Supercross is the pinnacle of motocross racing here in the United States (and depending on who you ask, the world as a whole) and the sooner that future stars can learn the advanced skills necessary, the better. There are similar series that run alongside other designated motorcycle world championships and have clearly proven to help the development of the competitors.
Feld Entertainment has released a digital video special that focuses on the format, showcases the current crop of talent, and builds hype for the Supercross Futures races that will run in 2020. The nearly hour-long video includes highlights and battles from all eight rounds of the series and the championship crowning night at the Monster Energy Cup, plus short profiles on 2019 racers Jett Lawrence, Pierce Brown, Evan Ferry, Colton Eigenmann, Haiden Deegan, Kelana Humphrey and Jordan Jarvis.
