West Coast Open | Round One | LACR

And we’re off! The AMSOIL DBK West Coast Open race series is officially underway, as the series opener went off this past weekend at LACR and man, it was fun one! Perfect temperatures and cloudy skies seemed to appeal Southern Californian racers, as hundreds of riders joined us at the well known Palmdale, CA pit. The track crew prepped both of the fast and fun courses to perfection. As the dust settled, hundreds of riders left LACR with smiles on their faces, as they were able to enjoy a day throwing down laps and doing battle.

Youngster Chase Brennan came out to the first round of the 2022 West Coast Open and did some damage aboard his KTM 65SX. The kid out of Winchester, CA lined up to contend in both the 65cc 9-11 yrs and 65cc Open No Beginners classes, where he fought his way to the front of the pack in all four of his individual gate-drops. At the end of the day, Chase left LACR with four more moto wins to his name and the series points lead in both of his classes.

As for the big bikes, New Zealand’s Josiah Natzke turned some heads in the 250 Pro and Pro Open classes aboard his KX250. The former prodigy out of the EMX series has spent the last few years racing back at home but recently moved to Menifee, CA to train and prepare for the upcoming 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series. Josiah dominated in each of his four motos at LACR and left the sand pit with the overall win in both pro classes. He also pocketed a few useful gate drops before the outdoor series kicks off in a few weeks.
