It’s no secret that the powersports industry has experienced a much-needed boom in sales over the last 18 months, an unexpected side effect of the ongoing global situation. The initial moments of the pandemic gave every person involved in off-road motorcycling reason to pause, but ever since the uptick in vehicle and accessory sales started, it’s been a battle to balance out consumer demands amid shortages or delays.
Western Power Sports has experienced successes and challenges during this time, as its ownership of brands like FLY Racing/Sedona/Fire Power, plus distribution rights for Alpinestars/Dunlop/FMF/Yoshimura/SCOTT, put the Idaho group in the middle of the supply chain. WPS has charged on without much issues, thanks to some quick decisions with proven partners.
We recently sat down with Craig Shoemaker, CEO of WPS, to discuss what the company has learned over the last year and what he believes the industry can do to make the most of the opportunity.
